Four leaf clover has often being construed as lucky but during the 1900’s clover, including the flowers and normal three leaf clover, was also a popular design feature of many antique items.
Below are some examples and price guides of Art Nouveau antiques with clover including some cotton fabric designed by Liberty & Co and a Daum Freres & Cie cameo glass vase.
This cotton furnishing fabric was designed and manufactured for Liberty & Co. of London.
It was duplex-printed, a process where the same pattern is roller-printed or screen-printed on to both sides of the fabric, making the design of flowering and leafing clover stems completely reversible.
