‘Eau de Coty’ perfume bottle designed by Rene Lalique
This bottle is an early example of the collaboration of Francois Coty and Rene Lalique. From the late 1800s the name of Rene Lalique (1860-1945) was synonymous with French Art Nouveau style. He joined forces with Francois Coty in 1906 in Paris at a very important time in the history of perfume and packaging. They collaborated in producing an extraordinary commercial range of glass containers for Coty perfume and cosmetics which were then mass produced. This set high standards for design in the cosmetic industry which continue to this day.
