Sevres

Sevres had some wonderful artists working in the company during the Art Nouveau era. Artists included Juliette Vesque and Jean Paul Milet. Many of the items produced during this time, displayed the flowing, naturalistic lines which were popular during that time.

Paul Jean Milet (French 1870 – 1950). Glazed ceramic art nouveau / art deco period vase with bronze mounts, circa 1925. Signed to underside of base.Born into a family of potters in the town of Sevres,he entered his father’s pottery workshop in 1894 where for the next 36 years, he created high-quality ceramics sought after by a Parisian clientele. His work is distinguished by the Art Nouveau movement influence and his early works favor floral motifs as well as very high-quality glazing work in vibrant colors. Dimensions:13″ high x 9″ wide x 5″ deep.Condition is very good, having no visible defects.

SEVRES ART NOUVEAU PORCELAIN AND BRONZE PLATTER

An Art Nouveau lobed shaped porcelain platter tray, decorated with a hand painted scene of a side profile of a woman, rubrum lilies surround, raised gilt decoration, mounted in a gilt bronze twin handled holder with four feet, signed Lhenri, marked underneath Chateau des Tuileries, S. Denis., includes a chain to hang on wall.

Paul Milet MP Sevres Porcelain Lidded Box

French Paul Milet MP Sevres rectangular, porcelain trinket box in the Art Nouveau style. Piece has a ground of crimson “sang de boeuf” color with gilt bronze mounts on the foot and rim and is embellished with gilt floral motifs. Stamped “MP Sevres” and “Made in France” on underside.

CIRCA: Late 19th to Early 20th Century.
ORIGIN: France.
DIMENSIONS: H: 3 1/2″ W: 6 3/4″ D: 4 3/4″.
